Any of us who have been around elderly adults, know that falls become more common with aging. But did you know that this is the leading cause of injury-related death among people older than 65. In addition, about one in three older Americans have difficulty with balance or walking, according to the American Geriatrics Society.
In a stride toward better health in later life, scientists reported today that resveratrol, the so-called “miracle molecule” found in red wine, might help improve mobility and prevent life-threatening falls among older people.
As people get older, it is very common for them to lose their sense of balance and fall. Seniors can be more prone to weak muscles, poor vision, weaker legs, decreased sensation, or other medically-troublesome conditions. These same types of ailments can also occur in younger adults that have to depend on prescriptions. Slow reflexes, decreased perception, and/or impaired mobility may be prevalent. Injuries are not uncommon due to these challenges. Seniors are not just subject to falls that cause bodily harm. Recovery may be slow and can lead to other developments including bedsores, increased muscle weakness, & greater exposure and suffering from infections.
Resveratrol – an antioxidant found in red wine and dark-skinned fruits – might help reduce inflammation, lower cholesterol, slash the risk of heart disease and certain cancers and, perhaps, have some anti-aging effects in the body. Resveratrol is abundant in foods such as red grapes, blueberries and nuts; however, we recommend the supplement form.
We suggest taking one 250 mg Super Resveratrol softgel daily.
