Anti-aging Matrixyl® Treatment Moisturizer is a skin ointment meant to refresh and renew your skin. Matrixyl®, a peptide, or protein fragment, sets in motion processes in the skin which make it increase the production of collagen twofold. Collagen is the 'anti-wrinkle' protein in the skin which provides it with a young and plump look. Apart from Matrixiyl® the moisturizers also has a number of other ingredients which serve to nourish the skin and significantly slow-down the aging process, and thus create a youthful feeling as well as look. Witch Hazel Extract, for example, contains hydrosol – an essential oil which is highly beneficial for a variety of skin conditions, acting as an anti-oxidant and astringent. Another such ingredient is Shea Butter, derived from the Shea tree, used as a moisturizer and salve. Sodium Hyaluronate, Hyaluronic Acid is used for the treatment of wrinkles as it acts as a lubricant and protective buffer for tissues which reduces the stress on them.
