African Mango, or Ivingia Garbonensis, is a wild forest tree that is spread across Africa and Southeast Asia with dark-green foliage and yellow flowers. Its fruits resemble those of the Mangifera indica, the plant popularly known as Mango, though, technically the African Mango belongs to another genus. African Mango Extract is derived from the protein-rich seed of the fruit. It is known to act as a purgative and because of that it is popular as a weight-loss agent. Separate studies in 2005, 2008 and 2009 demonstrated that the intake of African Mango results in greater weight-loss, body-fat loss and an improvement in blood pressure and blood sugars. Apart from its weight-loss effects, African Mango is also very beneficial for gastrointestinal and liver conditions.
