White Kidney Beans (Phaselous vulgaris) contain a so-called enzyme inhibitor, called Phaseolamin. What Phaseolamin does is to neutralize alpha-amylase, an enzyme in the body which breaks down complex carbohydrates (starches) into sugars. By neutralizing alpha-amylase a part of these starches can pass through the digestive system without being converted into glucose and then into fat. When taken before a meal, White Kidney Bean Extract considerable lowers the amount of carbs that are being absorbed, thus controlling weight gain. When coupled with regular exercise and a balanced diet, this supplement will speed up the effect of weight loss.
